SUMENEP, (Transmadura.com)  – Berkunjung ke warga binaan, Babinsa Koramil 0827/16 Gapura Serda Yudi membantu jemur padi.

Terlihat hamparan luas jemuran gabah milik petani hasil panen dua hari yang lalu di Desa Braji, Kecamatan Gapura, Kabupaten Sumenep.

Serda Yudi mengatakan, penjemuran gabah di halaman masih menggunakan sistem konvensional dengan mengandalkan sinar matahari.

Para petani berupaya untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya alam sebaik mungkin. Mereka mengetahui titik maksimal di mana sinar dan panas matahari dapat tersalurkan dengan baik.

“Kita bantu jemur padi di halaman sekitar rumahnya dan ini tempat yang potensial untuk menjemur gabah karena sinar matahari full,” ujarnya. Sabtu (11/5/2024).

Ia mengatakan tujuan gabah dijemur adalah untuk mengalami proses pengeringan, yaitu menurunkan kadar air gabah hingga titik siap giling sekitar 14%.

“Cuaca sangat terik proses pengeringan sekitar satu hari selesai,” pungkas Serda Yudi.

Serda Yudi menambahkan gabah yang sudah dikeringkan akan disimpan dirumah sebagai bekal kehidupan makan sehari-hari bisa digiling kapan saja dan juga untuk dijual tatkala harga gabah meningkat.

“Gabah yang sudah kering bisa langsung di selip, petani disini biasanya di simpan untuk stok sehari-hari, kadang di jual untuk kebutuhan keluarganya,” imbuhnya.
