SUMENEP, (Transmadura.com)  – Setelah musim jagung dan padi selesai, sebagian petani yang lahannya potensial ditanami tembakau saat ini sudah mulai melakukan penggarapan lahan.

Salah satunya di Desa Aengmera Kecamatan Batu Putih, Kabupaten Sumenep. Petani mulai membajak sawahnya dibantu Babinsa Koramil 0827/15 Batu Putih Serka Sunarko.

Sawah milik Masrono seluas 0,25 hektar yang sebelumnya ditanami jagung kini sudah dibabat habis.

“Memasuki kemarau para petani disini sudah beralih ke tanam tembakau dan untuk saat ini baru persiapan lahan,” ujar Serka Sunarko saat dikonfirmasi. Kamis (23/5/2024)

Menurutnya, dipastikan bulan depan semua petani khususnya di wilayah Desa Aengmera yang memang terkenal dengan tembakau, sudah mulai kompak menanam tembakau.

“Disini ada sebagian yang baru menanam bibit, ada juga sebagian yang sudah menanam di lahannya, mungkin baru sekitar 15%,” terangnya.

Pada tahun 2023 lalu harga tembakau cukup bagus karena berkisar antara Rp 55.000 hingga Rp 70,000 per kilogram.
