Namun, adanya dugaan Pamekasan jadi pemasok rokok ilegal, dapat mencoreng nama baik wilayah yang ditempati Kantor Badan Koordinasi Wilayah (Bakorwil).
Dugaan maraknya peredaran rokok ilegal itu bukan tanpa alasan. Sebab, Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari terus berkembangnya peredaran dan produksi rokok ilegal di Bumi Gerbang Salam tersebut.
Aktivis Pamekasan, Sauqi mulai mengotak atik adanya usaha rokok ilegal yang sangat merugikan negara. “pertumbuhan peredaran dan produksi rokok ilegal di kabupaten Pamekasan ini dapat dipastikan sebagai potret kegagalan pihak Beacukai,” katanya.
Sehingga, dia mengulas potret yang selama ini dari tahun ke tahun, peredaran serta merek rokok ilegal ini tambah berkurang apa tambah banyak. “lantas peran dan fungsi Beacukai dimana selama ini?,” tanya Sauqi.
Dengan demikian, kata Sauqi, ketidakprofesionalan Beacukai ini, dinilai sangat tampak dari kecenderungannya terhadap sejumlah perusahaan rokok di Pamekasan. Ia mengatakan, ada kemungkinan tebang pilih.
“Harusnya Beacukai itu profesional, atau kalau boleh saya pertegas jangan pilah pilih lah antar satu pengusa dengan pengusaha yang lain,” ujar dia.
“Selama itu salah, siapapun pengusahanya harus ditindak. Karena hukum itu berlaku bagi semua orang dan semua orang harus diperlakukan sama dihadapan hukum,” tegas Sauqi.
Sauqi pun tak tanggung-tanggung menyebut sejumlah merek rokok yang ia nilai bodong alias rokok ilegal.
“Seperti halnya rokok (ilegal) Guci dan Lois. Kalau memang Beacukai ini profesional dan tidak pilah pilih, coba buktikan pada masyarakat, tindak pemilik rokok ilegal itu,” tantang Sauqi.
“Infonya kan milik orang Kadur itu, artinya saya rasa selain Kadur itu jarak tempuhnya tidak begitu jauh, pun saya rasa pihak Beacukai tidak bodoh-bodoh amat lah, jika memang mereka serius dan profesional,” tandasnya.
