SUMENEP, (Transmadura.com) – Presiden RI Joko Widodo (Jokowi) meresmikan Bandara Trunojoyo Sumenep, Jawa Timur, Rabu, (21/4/2022).
Prosesi peresmian ditandai dengan pemukulan gong oleh Presiden Jokowi. “Alhamdulillah bandar udara Trunojoyo di Kabupaten Sumenep Madura Telah selesai dibangun, dan siap untuk dimanfaatkan untuk kebutuhan transportasi masyarakat di pulau Madura dan pulau lain disekitar Madura,” kata Jokowi dalam sambutannya di YouTube Sekretariat Presiden, Rabu (20/4/2022).
Keberadaan bandara kata Jokowi sangat penting untuk meningkatkan konektivitas dan memudahkan keterhububgan dengan pulau-pulau lain yang ada di sekitar pulau Madura.
“Dan membuka isolasi pulau-pulau terpencil di sekitar pulau Madura. Bandara ini juga akan memangkas waktu tempauh dari pulau sekitar Madura yang jika dijalani menggunakan kapal memerlukan waktu berhari-hari, dan sekarang dengan menggunakan pesawat perlu waktu 1 jam saja,” ungkapnya.
Presiden Jokowi meyakini adanya bandara tersebut bisa meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat.
“Saya yakin, dengan konektivitas yang semakin baik, mobilitas masyarakat akan mudah dan semakin lancar, dan titik perekonomian baru akan tumbuh, dan usaha baru juga akan bermunculan dan kesempatan kerja baru juga akan bertambah. Disamping itu juga usaha yang sekarang sudah ada akan semakin berkembang dan semakin maju,” tegas dia.
