Keb, S.Pd. Juga hadir dinkes provinsi.

Bupati Sumenep Dr. KH. A. Busyro Karim dalam sambutannya, mengapresiasi seminar workshop berkaitan dengan kusta ini. Sebab, Sumenep masih masuk kategori terbanyak penderita kusta di Jatim. “Ini langkah yang bagus untuk dilakukan dalam pengentasan kusta, ” katanya.

Kepala Dinkes Sumenep dr. Fatoni menuturkan, kegiatan ini dilaksanakan oleh Kemenkes. Dengan harapan bisa menyamakan persepsi tentang pencegahan dan penanganan kusta. “Penyakit kusta harus menjadi atensi. Sebab, Sumenep terbanyak sejatim, ” katanya.
Dengan kegiatan ini, sambung dia, diharapkan penderita kusta di Sumenep bisa menurun, termasuk juga menurunnya tingkat kecacatan akibat dari kusta. “Yang terpenting, memutus mata rantai penyebaran kusta di Sumenep. Sebab, ini masuk penyakit menular,” tuturnya.
Fatoni mengungkapkan, pihaknya tetap berupaya untuk menekan kusta meski tahun depan tidak ada lagi anggaran dari luar. Sebab, sudah putus kontrak, sehingga memungkinkan di APBD. “Kami tetap fokus pada pengentasan kusta, ” ucapnya.
