Pelaksanaan Olempiade sains Nasional(OSN) tersebut, yang dilaksamakan oleh Dinas Pendidikan provinsi Jawa Timur wilayah Sumenep, ditingkat Kabupaten, memberikan udara segar terhadap peserta didik SMAN I Sumenep.
“Alhamdulillah kami sangat mengapresiasi,atas anak didik kami,sehingga, bisa Mendominasi kejuaran dalam OSN tersebut,dan ini suatu kebanggaan bagi sekolah SMA 1 ini,” kata samsul arifin saat di konfirmasi diruang kerjanya sabtu 18/03/2017.
Pria yang berperawakan kalem ini, menambahkan, Setelah ditingkat Kabupaten sudah mendominasi, pihaknya juga akan terus melakukan persiapan ditingkat Provinsi Jawa Timur, dengan cara melakukan pembinaan.
“Kami akan terus bekerja sama untuk bisa Mendatangkan Pembina OSN tingkat regional maupun nasional, Dan juga, Akan bekerja sama terhadap Erick Institute di Malang, supaya ditingkat Provinsi SMANSA kembali menjuarai,dan mohon do’a dan dukungan,” paparnya.
Masing-masing peserta didik SMAN 1 yang mampu mewarnai dunia Pendidikan Kabupaten Sumenep OSN tahun 2017,diantaranya untuk Bidang Matematika Juara 1 ElzaNurwansah, juara 3 Hanif Rofhan. Bidang Studi Fisika juara 1 Bagas Yadir, juara 3 Irma Duwi Arini.
Sementara, Bidang studi kimia Juara 1 Dia Anini, Juara 3 Nasda Masyuni. Studi informatika juara 1 Mohammad Rizal, juara 3 Aura Nihdasabila. Studi Biologi Juara 1 alfia salsabila, juara 2 rizal jamil. Studi astronomi juara 1 Zyana Nabila, Juara 3 Sarif Nur M. studi ekonomi juara 1 eksanti Amaliya,Juara 2 Ricky prandedya, juara 3 Dinda dwi meiriska. Bidang studi giografi juara 1 cindy susanti, juara 2 Alif aditya rahman dan juara 3 Naufia hasanah.
Bahkan, pihaknya akan terus berupaya semaksimal mungkin,untuk terus memberikan pembinaan pengetahuan, Kualitas, wawasan dan membentuk karakter budaya membaca,agar semua siswa dan siswi samansa mempunyai pengetahuan lebih.
