Bawang merah yang merupakan salah satu komoditi baru di Desa Basoka, Kecamatan Rubaru, kini sedang dibudidayakan dan dikembangkan beramai-ramai oleh masyarakat yang sebelumnya sudah mendapatkan bantuan dari dinas pertanian pada program Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional.
Menurut Bupati Sumenep Achmad Fauzi, S.H.,M.H. pelaksanaan panen bawang merah di Desa Basoka ini merupakan bantuan dari dinas pertanian Kabupaten Sumenep dalam rangka Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional (PEN) di masa Pandemi Covid-19.
“Pada dasarnya kami disini ingin memastikan pada pasca panen awal, apakah harganya cukup baik apa tidak itu yang paling penting, karena dari awal kita coba antisipasi agar pasca panen, harga bawang ini mendapatkan harga terbaik khusunya bagi para petani” ujar Bupati
Dandim 0827/Sumenep Letkol Inf Nur Cholis, A. Md yang turut ikut panen raya mengatakan usaha yang paling menjanjikan adalah usaha pertanian, terutama pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Diharapkan kedepannya produksi bawang merah yang dihasilkan para petani di Desa Basoka semakin meningkat agar kesejahteraan petani pun kian meningkat.
“Panen Bawang merupakan salah satu bentuk pemulihan ekonomi, program pengembangan bawang merah di Desa Basoka agar petani dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan khususnya meningkat perekonomian masyarakay di masa pandemi ini”, pungkas Dandim
Pada kesempatan itu juga Dandim 0827/Sumenep bersama Forkopimda menyerahkan bantuan kepada petani berupa Obat-obatan Pertanian, Alat Pompa (hand sparayer). Bantuan ini sebagai wujud perhatian pemerintah untuk peningkatan kesejahteraan para petani di Desa Basoka.
