Jumlah anggota panitia pemilihan kecamatan (PPK) pemilihan kepala daerah Provinsi Jawa Timur dikurangin menjadi tiga orang dari sebelumnya lima orang setiap kecamatan.
Komisioner Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Kabupaten Sumenep A Zubaidi mengataka pengurangan anggota PPK itu berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 7 tahun 2017 tentang Penyelenggaraan Pemilihan Umum. “Hanya tiga orang setiap kecamatan, jadi ada pengurangan dua orang dari sebelumnya,” katanya.
Meskipun ada pengurangan keanggotaan, A Zuabidi diharapkan bisa maksimal saat menjalankan tugasnya sebagai bagian dari penyelenggara pesta demokrasi nanti.
Sebab lanjut Zubed pengurangan tersebut merupakan amanah UU yang harus dijalani. “Bagaimanapun kita harus menaati, karena itu UU,” tegasnya.
“Konsekwensinya harus lebih maksimal, baik staf maupun anggita PPK,” jelasnya.
Sementara rekrutmen PPK panitia pemungutan suara (PPS) pemilihan kepala daerah Provinsi Jawa Timur akan dilaksanakan mulai pertengahan Oktober mendatang.
