TNI Dalam pelaksanaan tugasnya, bukan saja sebagai pendamping Kelompok Tani, bahkan Babinsa juga turun ke sawah, karena Babinsa dan PPL diharuskan ikut serta dalam mensukseskan Program Swasembada Pangan Nasional.
Serda Rasul Bintara Pembina Desa (BABINSA) Banjar Barat Koramil 0827/16 Gapura, Kodim 0827/Sumenep bersama PPL Kecamatan Gapura mendampingi Kelompok Tani (POKTAN) Palapa panen padi jenis Ciherang seluas 1 Hektar, dengan hasil 5,5 ton dan dilanjutkan dengan merontokkan padi tersebut yang bertempat di Desa Banjar Barat Kec. Gapura Kabupaten Sumenep. Minggu (13/3/2017).
Menurut Batuud Ramil 0827/16 Gapura Pelda Hasan, panen kali ini mengalami peningkatan dibanding tahun sebelumnya. Terlebih-lebih dengan adanya Program TNI membantu para Petani untuk terciptanya Swasembada Pangan pada tahun 2017
“Dengan adanya program TNI, selain untuk mengamankan negara atau menjaga kedaulatan NKRI TNI juga ikut menciptakan swasemabada pangan agar warga negara tidak sampai kekurangan pangan. TNI dalam kegiatan ini adalah untuk melakukan pendampingan kepada petani mulai dari pengolahan lahan, menebar bibit, Menanam, merawat sampai memanen bahkan sampai di jual ke Bulog yang intinya Banbinsa harus mengetahui secara langsung proses pertanian di wilayahnya,” terangnya.
Lanjut Batuud, dalam membantu Petani Babinsa dan PPL tidak hanya pada saat panen saja, namun selain itu juga ” Babinsa harus mampu memberikan sosialisasi pada petani tentang pertanian yang baik serta memberikan penjelasan pasca panen, sehingga usai panen para petani bisa memahami apa yang harus dilakukan dan dipersiapkan guna menghadapi musim tanam selanjutnya,” ungkapnya.
Kegiatan Panen padi selain diikuti oleh Babinsa, juga turut memanen PPL Desa Banjar Barat serta Ketua Kelompok Tani Palapa (Sunarto SPd). Dengan adanya pendampingan yang selama ini di lakukan oleh Bapak Babinsa dan PPL kami mewakili rekan – rekan Petani di Poktan Palapa mengucapkan terima Kasih, dan berharap kegiatan pendampingan akan tetap berlanjut di masa mendatang sehingga hasil panen kami dapat meningkat,”.
