SUMENEP – Kodim 0827/Sumenep berhasil menanam jagung di Desa Palasa, Kecamatan Talango, Kabupaten Sumenep. Penanaman jagung dilaukuan secara serentak di jajaran Kodam V/Brawijaya. Minggu (3/3/2024).
Penanaman jagung dilakukan oleh Dandim 0827/Sumenep Letkol Czi Donny Pramudya Mahardi, S.E.,M.Si.,M.Sc. didampingi Pgs. Pasiter Kodim 0827/Sumenep, Danposramil Talango, Babinsa, Kelompok Tani dan Masyarakat.
Letkol Czi Donny Pramudya Mahardi mengatakan penanaman jagung yang ia lakukan bersama petani di Palasa seluas 5 hektar.
“Masyarakat Sumenep cinta jagung, dan tentunya ini menjadi kekuatan ketahanan pangan dan kekuatan ekonomi bagi petani, dan menanam jagung hasilnya tidak pernah rugi,” ujarnya.
Pihaknya mengatakan bahwa mayoritas orang Madura menanam jagung di musim kemarau. Namun, dimusim tersebut sering terkendala dengan air.
“Solusinya perlu membuat sumur sible (sumur listrik) sehinga masyarakat bisa bercocok tanam sepanjang tahun artinya baik musim hujan maupun musim kemarau,” ungkap Dandim Letkol Czi Donny Pramudya Mahardi.
Menurut Dandim, penanaman jagung merupakan langkah strategis dalam memastikan ketersediaan pangan lokal dan mendukung ketahanan pangan.
“Diharapkan hasilnya dapat memberikan manfaat yang signifikan bagi masyarakat, ekonomi meningkat dan Sumenep khususnya menjadi sentra jagung nasional,” harapnya.
