SUMENEP, (Transmadura com) – Produksi padi hasil pertanian masyarakat Sumenep, Madura, Jawa Timur dipastikan meningkat di tahun 2023 ini. Buktinya, produksi padi mencapai 172.732 ton.
Jumlah tonase produksi padi tahun ini mengalami kenaikan sekitar 5.655 ton, atau naik sekitar 3,38 persen. Tahun 2022 lalu, produksi padi hanya 167.077 ton saja. Data itu pada Januari – April.
Kepala Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Peternakan (DKPP) Sumenep Arif Firmanto membenarkan jika tahun ini di bulan Januari -April produksi padi mengalami kenaikan dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya. Hal itu sesuai dari rilis BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik)
“Dari rilis itu, dibandingkan tahun 2022 lalu, produksi padi di Sumenep mengalami kenaikan sebesar 3,38 persen,” katanya dalam rilisnya ke media.
Masih dalan rilis tersebut, Menurut Arif, produksi beras juga dipastikan mengalami kenaikan dibandingkan tahun 2022 lalu. Di mana tahun 2023 produksi padi mencapai 99.739 ton sementara 2022 hanya 96.474 ton.
“Jadi, produksi beras kita (Sumenep,red) tahun ini surplus dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya,” ujarnya.
Produksi padi dan beras ini meningkat, menurut Arif, salah satunya juga luas lahan meningkat. Tahun 2022, 30.333 hektar sedangkan di tahun 2023 mencapai 31.306, lebih banyak 973 hektar.
“Dengan begitu mengalami kenaikan sebesar 3,21 hektar,” tuturnya.
Dengan begitu, Arif menegaskan, ketersediaan pangan di kabupaten ujung Timur pulau Madura itu dipastikan aman dan tidak akan ada kendala. Utamanya, pada bulan ramadhan hingga Idul Fitri mendatang.
