SUMENEP, (TransMadura.com) – Kapal Motor Penumpang (KMP) Dharma Bahari Sumekar 1, rute Pelabuhan Kangean – Kalianget, sempat nyaris tenggelam diduga over load.

“Terjadina itu, pada Sabtu, (17/8/19) muatan penumpang KMP Dharma Bahari Sumekar 1 melebihi kapasitas, yang telah di tetapkan oleh pemerintah maupun pihak syahbandar,” kata Fathorrofik Ketua DPC Nasdem Kangean.

Kata dia, kapasitas/manifest KMP Dharma Bhakti Sumekar 1 itu, semestinya hanya muat 240 orang penumpang dan barang 2,5 ton.

“Ini dugaan Diperkirakan kurang lebih 400 ratus orang serta barang milik penumpang dan sepeda motor, Daya angkut penumpang dan barang yang tinggi kapasitasnya ini seakan di biarkan oleh pihak kapal yang didalamnya termasuk kapten kapal maupun pihak syahbandar,” ungkapnya.

Fathor menegaskan, daya angkut penumpang dan barang yang melebihi kapasitas ini terkesan dibiarkan tanpa memikirkan keselamatan penumpang apalagi iklim yang sering terjadi di wilayah perairan ra’as ini sangat ganas ombaknya.

“Harusnya pihak syahbandar mengawasi melonjaknya penumpang biar muatan tidak melebihi kapasitas dan menjaga keselamatan penumpang,” tegasnya.

Kepala Syahbandar Kangean, Nanang membantah, bahwa kapal itu bukan over loud, tapi hanya ada salah satu penumpang yang penakut langsung mengambil baju pelampung atau lif jaket, sebab terpicu kepanikan penumpang akhirnya yang lain ikut panik juga ikutan mengambil baju pelampung.

”Kehebohan terjadi dikapal DBS I karena salah satu penumpang mengambil baju pelampung sehingga penumpang lain ikut ikutan berebut mengambil baju pelampung, penumpang menumpuk dipinggir kapal, kapal jadi miring,” terangnya.

Sehingga, lanjut dia, untuk menghindari angin kapal DBS I sempat berlabuh diperairan Desa Gua-Gua, Kecamatan Raas agar efek angin yang menghantam kapal tidak terlalu besar.

“Akhirnya jam 02.00 Wib suasana terkendali dan Kapal DBS I melanjutkan perjalanan menuju pelabuhan kalianget,” tukasnya.
