SUMENEP, (TransMadura.com) –
sejumlah Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat (Puskesmas) di Kabupaten Sumenep dari 30 puskemas saat ini masih belum memiliki Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL). Namun saat ini masih ada 18 Puskesmas yang memiliki IPAL.
Hal itu disampaikan Kepala Dinas Kesehatan, Sumenep, dr. Fatoni, bahwa dari 30 puskesmas yang memiki IPAL baru 18. karena biaya operasional yang relatif tinggi, hingga saat ini belum semua puskesmas di Sumenep memiliki IPAL.
“Kalau rumah sakit sudah punya IPAL semua. Kalau puskesmas dari 30 itu ada 18. Puskesmas yang besar-besar itu seperti Puskesmas Gapura dan Bluto,” kata Kepala Dinas Kesehatan (Dinkes) Sumenep, dr. Fatoni, Selasa (9/4/2019).
Kata Fatoni, keberadaan IPAL menjadi standard bagi puskesmas. Sehingga Puskesmas tetap memerlukan IPAL. “Harganya mahal sekali sekitar 500 juta. Terus operasional, pakai listrik itu wattnya tinggi. Sebenarnya itu tidak betul-betul aman. Karena yang diolah itu hanya kencing, air kotoran limbah lab. Sedangkan kalau kotoran manusia itu ya tetep di WC,” tambahnya.
Sebagai alternatif, kata mantan Kepala Puskesmas Ambunten itu, Puskesmas sudah disarankan untuk membuat sumur resapan. “Saya ketika di Puskesmas Ambunten dulu menggunakan itu (sumur resapan). Aman kok,” tegasnya.
Sementara untuk limbah kesehatan yang lain, pihaknya bekerja sama dengan Dinas Lingkungan Hidup. Limbah tersebut dimusnahkan di TPA Batuan, termasuk limbah kesehatan dari kepulauan. “Kalau seperti jarum suntik itu kita bekerja sama dengab DLH. Jadi dimusnahkan menjadi devu,” tukasnya. (Ang/Hdr/Red)
