Harga garam khususnya Kabupaten
Sumenep, Madura, Jawa Timur, tahun 2018 berangsur turun. Hal ini membuat petambak garam mulai tidak bersemangat.
Meski cuaca bagus, harga garam pada juni lalu di tingkat petambak dibandrol sebesar Rp 2.400 per kilogram.Namun saat ini harga sebesar Rp 2000 per kilogrm.
“Bulan lalu harga garam masih Rp2.400, tapi sejak beberapa waktu lalu terus turun hingga saat ini menjadi Rp1.400 per kilo,” kata salah satu petani garam, asal Desa Karanganyar, Kecamatan Kalianget Abdurrahman.
Dikatakan, beberapa faktor anjloknya harga garam petani karena persediaan garam melimpah. Saat ini semua petambak sedang panen semua.
Selain itu kata Abdurrahman karena adanya isu impor garam yang sampai pada petambak.
“Petambak garam mulai panen Mei lalu. Karena harga terus merosot setelah panen petambak langsung dijual, tanpa menunggu panen berikutnya. Mareka hawatir harga semakin murah,” jelasnya.
Pihaknya berharap harga garam kembali stabil seperti awal tahun 2018. Waktu itu harga garam sekitar Rp 2.500 per kilogram.
“Petani mulai hawatir harga garam kembali anjlok seperti tahun 2015. Pada waktu itu garam Rp 400 per kilogram. Maka dari itu kami harap pemerintah memperjuangkan nasib petani dengan tidak melakukan inpor garam,” harapnya.
Di Sumenep terdapat beberapa daerah penghasil garam, seperti di Kecamatan Kalianget, Saronggi dan juga Kecamatan Gapura.
Sementara itu, pemerintah daerah tahun ini menarget produksi garam mencapai 260 ribu ton.Target tersebut lebih tinggi dari capaian produksi tahun lalu. Di tahun 2017, hasil produksi garam di Sumenep mencapai sekitar 232 ribu ton. Mengalami peningkatan cukup signifikan dari tahun 2016 lalu yang hanya mencapai sekitar 17 ribu ton. (Asm)
