SUMENEP, (Transmadura.com) – Dalam rangka memberantas rokok ilegal, Pemerintah Kabupaten Sumenep, Jawa Timur, mengedukasi masyarakat tentang ketentuan peraturan perundang-undangan tentang cukai.
Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan door to door ke setiap masyarakat, penjual rokok atau warung serta ke seluruh pabrikan yang ada di Sumenep.
Kepala Satpol PP Sumenep Ach. Laily Maulidi mengatakan sosialisasi dilakukan sebagai bentuk melawan atas maraknya peredaran rokok ilegal di wilayah Kabupaten Sumenep, Madura, yang terus meningkat.
“Ini merupakan bagian dari edukasi kepada masyarakat. Kami tidak ingin pemerintah menindak masyarakatnya tanpa tahu dulu ada peraturannya. Kalau ternyata masih ada yang melanggar ya kita berikan pembinaan sampai penindakan. Namun harapannya tidak sampai ada penindakan,” katanya.
Ia menyebutkan upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah daerah untuk melawan peredaran rokok ilegal dengan memberi informasi melalui sosialisasi tentang ketentuan cukai rokok yang diatur melalui Undang-Undang Nomor 39 tahun 2007 dan surat Edaran Dirjen Bea Cukai Nomor 03 tahun 2022.
“Pada dasarnya kewenangan sepenuhnya ada pada Bea dan Cukai,” katanya, lebih lanjut.
Dalam sosialisasi ketentuan tentang cukai rokok DBHCHT yang dilakukan Satpol PP melibatkan semua stakeholder, dari pelaku usaha tembakau, tokoh masyarakat hingga masyarakat umum di tingkat desa.
“Tanpa kita sadari banyak dampak negatif yang ditimbulkan dari peredaran rokok ilegal. Sebab itu, salah satu upaya pemerintah melakukan pencegahan melalui kegiatan sosialisasi penyampaian informasi kepada masyarakat,” ujarnya.
Menurut Laily, peredaran rokok ilegal tidak hanya di Sumenep, namun peningkatan rokok ilegal nyaris terjadi di kabupaten atau kota di seluruh Indonesia.
“Berbagai upaya pencegahan telah kami lakukan, salah satunya dengan melakukan sosialisasi yang langsung kami berikan kepada pedagang eceran,” ujarnya.
