Patut apresiasi Desa Aeng Tong-Tong, Kecamatan Saronggi, Kabupaten Sumenep, Madura, Jawa Timur, salah satu Desa di kabupaten Sumenep sebagai sentra keris peninggalan nenek moyang.

Namun, adanya itu Bupati Sumenep A Busyro Karim Resmi menetapkan Desa Aeng Tong -Tong sebagai Desa Keris di Balai Desa Setempat.

Kepala Desa Aeng Tong Tong Taufik Rahman menerangkan dalam sambutannya, tentang sejarah Desa Aeng Tong – Tong yang dijadikan Centra Keris. Itu semua berdasarkan bukti-bukti peningggalan yang menunjukkan jika Desa tersebut pantas di katakan sebagai Desa Keris.

Faktanya, dengan adanya sejarah Artefak-Artefak Kuno yang ditemukannya disebuah naskah Kuno tentang pembuatan Keris.

“Berdasarkan Cerita sesepuh kami di Desa Ini memang sejak dahulu sejak jaman kerajaan sudah ada pengrajin keris dibuktikan dengan adanya sebuah Artefak Artefak Keris peninggalan dan Naskah-Naskah kuno tentang pembuatan keris,” Katanya, Sabtu (17/3/2018)

Taufik berharap dengan di resmikannya Desa ini sebagai desa Centra Keris semoga mempunyai dampak positif terhadap masyarakat, semoga Masyarakat disini tambah semangat, rajin dan mampu berinovasi kedepannya sebagai wujud dalam melestarikan budaya pengrajin keris.

“semua ini tidak mungkin pernah terwujud tanpa adanya sebuah dukungan dari semua pihak baik Masyarakat setempat dan juga Pemerintah Daerah, harapan kami kedepan diresmikannya Desa ini sebagai Centra keris menjadikan Masyarakat lebih semangat lagi dalam membuat keris,” harapnya.

Bupati Sumenep A.Buya Busyro Karim dalam sambutannya menyampaikan,
selamat kepada masyarakat Desa Aeng Tong-Tong yang saat ini ditetapkan sebagai desa keris, atau pertama di kabupaten sumenep.

“Semoga, dengan penetapan desa keris ini akan memotivasi masyarakat desa aeng tong-tong dalam melestarikan dan mengembangkan keris di masa mendatang, termasuk juga pengembangan wisata,” Ungkapnya.

Bupati mengatakan, eksistensi keris tidak hanya diakui di nusantara, tetapi juga di dunia. pada tahun 2005 lalu, PBB telah menetapkan keris sebagai salah satu benda pusaka warisan dunia kategori non bendawi.

Pada saat itu, ada lima karya budaya indonesia yang mendapat pengakuan sebagai warisan budaya dunia dari unesco yaitu wayang, keris, angklung, batik, dan tari saman gayo.

“Konsekuensi pengakuan unesco tersebut, kita memiliki kewajiban melestarikan dan mengembangkan keris agar tetap lestari. dari lima karya budaya tersebut, keris adalah warisan budaya paling sulit dipertahankan kelestariannya. berbeda dengan batik, wayang, angklung maupun tari,” Terangnya

Pihahanya bersyukur karena kabupaten sumenep diakui oleh Unesco sebagai daerah pemilik pengrajin terbanyak keris di dunia yang mencapai 640 orang. dari jumlah tersebut, paling banyak berada di Desa Aeng Tong-Tong Saronggi ini.

“Atas dasar itulah, pemerintah daerah terus berkomitmen dalam pelestarian keris. buktinya, pada bulan nopember 2014, kabupaten sumenep telah mengukuhkan sebagai kota keris sebagai simbol wisata kabupaten sumenep agar tetap lestari sepanjang masa,” Jelas Bupati

Bupati berharap, penetapan desa aeng tong-tong sebagai desa keris akan mengangkat citra dan identitas kabupaten sumenep di mata internasional, terlebih dalam mendukung visit sumenep 2018.

“Saya ingin, keunikan tiada duanya di dunia ini dimaksimalkan untuk mempercepat pengembangan wisata di sumenep.
saya berharap pemasaran produk keris di Desa Aeng Tong-Tong perlu dengan inovasi pemanfaatan media sosial. di era saat ini, perdagangan secara online sudah cukup massif, sehingga juga perlu dilakukan para pengrajin keris ini,” ucapnya.
